Multimedia Approach for Product Introduction
February 22, 2007 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
LOS ANGELES To introduce its KE-2080 flexible mounter at APEX, Juki Corporation (Morrisville, N.C.) used a multimedia approach, with streaming video and a product Webpage, in addition to display at the booth.
A streaming video on the company's website, under new products and features, depicts close-ups of the system's laser unit, and illustrates how the centering system recognizes and aligns small components, such as 0201s. Side-by-side videos compare blow mounting and non-blow, which Juki claims yields a more stable pick-and-place process. Viewer can watch the system in action throughout the video, with voice-over explanation of functions and trends in components, such as random ball placement. The KE-2080 product Webpage offers a static collection of system statistics, such as placement rate and accuracy.
The KE-2080 high-speed flexible mounter, at Booth 2437, includes an updated head design with six nozzles and a separate head that places components from an upward-looking camera post-inspection. Sixth-generation, the modular system includes magnascale resolution down to 1 µm, an LNC-60 high-resolution laser centering system, and one piece single-cast base. It is capable of placing 01005s.
