February 22, 2007 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
LOS ANGELES Statistical process control (SPC), real-time monitoring, and identification and labeling systems were highlighted at IPC Printed Circuits Expo/APEX/Designers Summit, February 2022 in Los Angeles, with various companies such as Cognex and Eunil showcasing readers and marking systems.
Cognex Corporation of Natick, Mass., announced the Dataman 100 fixed-mount ID readers. These products accept printed barcodes, and 2-D direct-marked codes. Using IDQuick decoding software or IDMax for direct part mark (DPM) codes, the compact reader incorporates illumination, beeper, adjustable optics, aimer, and push-button trigger.
Eunil (San Diego) exhibited the ELM-700A laser marking system at Booth 1051. The CO2 laser engraves barcodes, product model numbers, logos, names, and serial number data on PCBs from 50 × 50 mm to 430 × 350 mm. It can mark 1- and 2-D, text, graphic data, and CAD data.
PROMATION, Inc. (Pleasant Prairie, Wis.), displayed the Label Master station at Booth 1003. The system is an inline, print-on-demand label placement station that can be configured to pre-printed label rolls or custom pieces. With an X/Y gantry, it places labels from 7 × 7 mm to 40 × 40 mm.
