EMI Absorber Targets Mobile Communications
January 9, 2007 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
AUSTIN, Texas The AB-5000 series EMI absorber from the electrical markets division of 3M suppresses radiated noise from emitting devices designed in the broadband radio frequency (RF) range. The company recommends usage in EMI attenuation applications requiring electromagnetic-absorbing properties: mobile phones, computers, notebooks, communications PCBs, and other communications applications.
The absorber, supplied in roll form to allow continuous rotary die-cutting, comes in thicknesses ranging from 0.1 to 1.0 mm. Made with a flexible polyurethane resin loaded with a soft metal-flake filler, the product has an acrylic pressure-sensitive adhesive and is protected by a removable liner. Attenuation range depends on product thickness; the series is flame retardant.
