Ascentech Distributes Solderability Test Equipment
December 11, 2006 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
CHESTER, Conn. Ascentech will distribute testing equipment to determine solderability of component leads and terminations with the MUST System 3, manufactured by Gen3 Systems, Ltd. Ascentech, North American distributor for Gen3 Systems products, will provide sales and service and support for MUST Systems.
The test equipment measures solderability of metallic terminations on PCBs and components, documenting the wetting curve of the unit-under-test using a small solder bath or solder globule and vertical-force measurements on lands and leads. The system suits lead-free and leaded devices, and evaluates solderability to IPC/EIA/JEDEC standards. GEN3, formerly known as Concoat Systems, is located in Farnborough, U.K.
