IPC Calling All PCB Designers
December 4, 2006 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
BANNOCKBURN, Ill. IPC Association Connecting Electronics Industries and its Designers Council will host the Designers Summit, February 15 22, 2007, in Los Angeles. The event allows PCB designers to participate in activities and educational sessions, and provides resources on high-speed, advanced technologies, and design for lead-free. The summit occurs in conjunction with APEX and IPC Printed Circuits Expo.
Those interested in becoming Certified Interconnect Designers (C.I.D.) and Advanced Certified Interconnect Designers (C.I.D. +) can participate in workshops and exams February 15 17. Designers Day February 19 presents full-day immersion in design issues, including new approaches to design challenges, insight to evolving lead-free concerns, and a discussion of the U.S. design industry's future.
The program is developed "by designers for designers," according to Jean Hebeisen, IPC Designers Council and professional development director; therefore, networking opportunities appear in many settings, including panel discussions and classes. "It's YOUR Party" on the evening of February 22, will feature the Designers Den, an informal networking environment. Summit attendees also are encouraged to meet with suppliers, manufacturers, and OEMs who influence design choices at the show's exhibition.
