Handbook Specifies Design Standards
October 30, 2006 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
ST. LOUIS The second edition of Geometrical Dimensioning and Tolerancing for Design, Manufacturing, and Inspection, by Georg Henzold, covers international design standards and revisions for geometrical product specifications.
The book defines International Standards Organization (ISO) and American National Standards Institute/American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ANSI/ASME) standards, and outlines a method for discerning mechanical part geometries. Tools for design and manufacturing engineers, fabricators, and inspectors allow complex measurements to be translated with symbols for improved communication.
At about 400 pages, the book will be published through Elsevier. Henzold previously served as the deputy director of Siemens AG and is a member of the ISO GPS steering committee in Germany.
