Gail Flower to Keynote SWEPEX
October 6, 2006 |Estimated reading time: 1 minute
PLANO, Texas SMT Magazine editor-in-chief Gail Flower will provide a keynote address at the Southwest Electronics Production Exposition (SWEPEX), November 14 15, 2006, in Plano, Texas. At the November 15th luncheon, Flower will interpret the progression of the SMT industry as a "dance," spinning "upside down and round."
Flower served as director of the SMTA and helped to lead the 2003 "Where the Component Meets the Board" conference. During the keynote, she will examine major trends from an editor's point of view, incorporating Moore's Law, news and trade publications, conferences, and the manufacturing facilities worldwide that all affect the advancement of the electronics industry. The 30-minute keynote should bring a humorous and compellingly insight into the electronics manufacturing world as a whole, linking the sometimes fragmented elements of assembly together into a cohesive industry. As an editor with more than 20 years experience, Flower created SMT Magazine in 1985 and founded the publication's annual VISION Awards to recognize innovation in the SMT industry.
SWEPEX, formed by Jerry Couples and Jim Baker, provides the southwestern region of the U.S. with sessions and seminars on fabrication, assembly, and test; and a two-day exhibition. The conference is geared toward education the SMTA will cover technical subjects and local experts will present papers. SWEPEX will serve assembly and test professionals from the semiconductor, defense and aerospace electronics, medical, optical networking, and telecom electronics markets based in the southwestern region.
