AMESBURY, Mass. Titan Global Holdings, Inc., will implement an optimization plan in its Mass.-based Titan East PCB plant. The process criteria will be based on a similar program implemented in the Titan West advanced circuit board production facility, located in Fremont, Calif. The Massachusetts plant holds the U.S. Department of Defense 31032 certification and concentrates on military projects.
Executing changes in the East Coast plant is phase two of a PCB business repositioning for Titan, said Bryan Chance, president and CEO. The plan is to increase production capacity through process redesign, and expanded use of automation. Implementation in the Californian facility led to changes at personnel and customer-mix levels; the company claims that a 20% production capacity increase resulted. With additional support from the company's California location, the East Coast facility intends to increase higher-margin, quick-turn prototype production, accelerate workflow and inventory turns, and expand other initiatives.
