ORION, Mich. Applied Manufacturing Technologies, Inc., entered into an agreement with DENSO Robotics of Kariya, Aichi prefecture, Japan, to provide engineering and support services for the company's robots. Midwestern U.S. manufacturers, using DENSO robots, which need immediate service and training, will have access to AMT's 200 engineers.
DENSO's presence in the Midwest requires that they have a local service option, said Joe Campbell, COO for AMT. Peter Tarbell, Midwest regional manager for DENSO Robotics, explained that AMT offered experience and capabilities that would facilitate growth in the region. Under terms of the agreement, AMT will train DENSO's Midwest customers, and support robot programming and re-build services.
