Prototyping Station Debuts at NEPCON
August 24, 2006 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
SHENZHEN, China ESSEMTEC AG will showcase its EXPERT-SAFP universal prototyping station at NEPCON South China, August 29 through September 1, 2006, in Shenzhen, China.
The prototyping station handles small batches and prototypes of assembled SMD boards using a semiautomatic pick-and-place system. The head is air-suspended and ergonomically designed to pick components that are loose, on reel, or on stick. A turning station flips upside-down components.
An integrated vision system, the MPL3100, uses a double prism optical system to display fine-pitch and other hard-to-place component structures with the substrate overlay on the operator's screen. With the ability to mount from CAD files or through point-by-point, the system also includes a dispenser and reflow tool, and can be connected to computer controls.
