DEK Expands Online Support
August 24, 2006 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
WEYMOUTH, U.K. DEK machine owners can download 3-D engineering models for all company printer subassemblies over broadband Internet, allowing operators to examine components in detail without taking a machine offline, or verify and order parts or upgrades.
This accelerated 3-D Find-a-Part service is accessible using a secure technical support account page on DEK's Website, and will join the company's Web services portfolio. The company installed dedicated Internet infrastructure to support large-size downloads.
CAD models provided are those used by DEK engineers. Customers can rotate models in three axes, measure dimensions, zoom in/out, isolate and inspect individual sub-components, and find part numbers using context-sensitive keys. This service is for customers looking to inspect any subassembly or optional unit, such as a print head or underscreen cleaner, said Jon Howell, customer service group manager at DEK.
