June 13, 2006 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
SOUTH PORTLAND, Maine With the addition of its São Paulo, Brazil facility, Fairchild Semiconductor reaches nine Global Power Resource design centers worldwide. This Brazil facility will service the growing South American high-tech market, which is predicted to experience 14% growth in 2006 and nearly 10% in 2007, according to one report. Electrical engineers with design know-how and an understanding of application requirements will support Fairchild's manufacturing customers throughout the consumer electronic and appliance, lighting, automotive, and telecom markets.
Fairchild's other design centers are located in Germany, Korea, Taiwan, China, and the U.S., and offer system power design as well as online tools, evaluation boards, tutorials, and joint R&D labs. "As part of the Power Franchise, Fairchild is uniquely equipped to assist application engineers who access our Brazil Design Center, in the optimization of system power in even their most demanding applications," said Kevin Parameter, senior director, Field Applications Engineering for the Americas.
