Siemens Nabs 'Company of the Year' Award

ORLANDO, Fla. —Frost and Sullivan named Siemens its 2006 Company of the Year for its automation solutions for the automotive industry. Presented on April 26, 2006, at Frost & Sullivan's 2006 Excellence in Industrial Technologies Award Banquet in Orlando, Fla., the award recognizes Siemens for providing its automotive customers with value-added solutions specific to customer needs.
Siemens' focus on RFID and its ability to provide a common programming interface and networking architecture were noted as strengths. The company's Totally Integrated Automation (TIA) platform is said to help customers improve productivity by integrating data across all levels within an organization.
Based in Atlanta, Siemens Energy & Automation, Inc. manufactures and markets a range of electrical and electronic products, systems, and services to industrial and construction markets. The Frost & Sullivan Award for Company of the Year is presented annually to a company that demonstrates excellence in its operations within a particular Frost & Sullivan Industry Research Group. Candidates are researched based on predetermined criteria through interviews with market participants, customers, and suppliers, as well as an analysis of extensive secondary and technology research.
