Barcode Traceability Added to Reflow Soldering
May 16, 2006 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
FRANKLIN, Mass. — A barcode traceability feature is available on the OmniExcel series reflow soldering systems from Speedline Technologies, reportedly enabling expanded product traceability, recipe verification, and automatic recipe changeover. A reflow event log records product barcodes associated with known oven recipes and verifies them against the current operating recipe.
If the scanned product barcode and current operating recipe do not match, OmniExcel software changes automatically to the correct product recipe that is matched to the specific scanned barcode. This enables barcode data related to specific product and machine performance parameters to be linked, providing compressive product traceability. The system also supports 1- and 2-D barcode formats, which is said to boost throughput and reliability.
