SMTA Adds to Online Knowledge Base
November 8, 2005 |Estimated reading time: 1 minute
MINNEAPOLIS — The SMTA Knowledge Base is a searchable archive of all technical papers presented at SMTA conferences and featured in the SMTA Journal. It currently consists of nearly 2000 full-length technical articles from such conferences as SMTA International and the Pan Pacific Microelectronics Symposium. Papers in the Knowledge Base date back as far as 1996, and cover the full range of issues in electronics manufacturing and related business issues. This year, 77 papers have been added from the 2005 Pan Pacific Microelectronics Symposium and from the SMTA Medical Electronics Symposium.
62 papers from the Pan Pacific Microelectronics Symposium span such topics as 3-D chip stacking; system-in-package (SiP); RF and sensor technologies; high-performance packaging; assembly management strategies; lead-free reliability; solder and rework processes; lead-free microstructures and performance; lead-free implementation; package solder joint reliability; electronic adhesives; chip attach and materials technologies; cleaning and surface treatments' packaging and assembly trends; and inspection and test.
Fifteen papers from the SMTA Medical Electronics Symposium explore devices, components, packaging and assembly technologies from technical sessions on MEMS; business challenges; enabling product technologies; product reliability; advanced packaging applications; and Assembly Techniques — Ensuring Manufacturing Performance.
While authors and abstracts are accessible for all visitors to search, SMTA members have free access to PDF file downloads, and non-members can purchase articles for $10 each. Please visit the Knowledge Base by clicking here, and contact SMTA director of communications & IT, Jesse Katzman, with any questions by calling (952) 920-7682 or e-mailing jesse@smta.org.
