Productronica '05 to Aid the Industry's Lead-free Transition
October 14, 2005 |Estimated reading time: 1 minute
CHICAGO — Productronica 2005, to be held November 15–18, 2005, in Munich, Germany, will aim to help electronics production experts and professionals in their transition to environmentally friendly practices and products. Show attendees will be able to gain firsthand information on the status of lead-free technologies and the latest processes in compliance with the new regulations.
During the first two days of the show, the Productronica Forums will feature discussions and presentations on all aspects related to lead-free electronics, such as the logistical challenge and market trends for component mounting. In Hall A6, the Lead-Free Interactive Forum, where companies will offer insights on how they are implementing the new guidelines, will be followed by an extensive question-and-answer session on topics ranging from reflow processes to quality assurance.
A "Green Day," slated for November 17th, will target attendees from outside of Europe and intend to raise their awareness of the new specifications and associated challenges. The "Green Day" program includes a series of lectures, a visit to the Lead-Free Interactive Forum and an expert-level discussion with representatives from leading EMS companies.
Visitors also will be able to learn more about redesigned lead-free products and production technologies, including lead-free solders, pastes and conductive adhesives, permanent coating and lead-free-capable single chamber.
Registration and tickets are available at www.global-electronics.net/productronica, where a database of exhibitors, maps of Munich, the show floor and information on all Munich attractions may be found.
