Advanced SCARA Robots Offer High-speed Operations

ELK GROVE, Ill. Toshiba Machine's TH550 and TH850 SCARA robots are said to offer high-speed operations, high payload capacities and low-profile form factors. The TH550 reaches speeds up to 6.21 m/s and the TH850 reaches 8.03 m/s. Three-axis speeds for both reach 2,000 m/s.With a 2-kg payload, standard cycle times hit 0.33 s for the TH550 and 0.49 s for the TH850. Maximum payload mass is 5 and 20 kg for the TH550 and TH850, respectively. Total arm length for the TH550 is 550 mm and 850 mm for the TH850. Positioning repeatability is ±0.015 mm for the X/Y of the TH550 and ±0.03 mm for the TH850. Z-axis positioning repeatability for the TH550 is ±0.01 mm for the TH550 and ±0.02 mm for the TH850.
Toshiba Machine's seven TH series models feature larger payload masses and high rigidity, as well as varying arm lengths. The series features a full-function TS controller, which can control a maximum of five axes simultaneously. It includes a built-in PLC, and operation panel and a multitask function.
