Outsourcing in Europe is Focus of TFI Forum in Munich
September 22, 2005 |Estimated reading time: 1 minute
ALAMEDA, Calif. — Technology Forecasters Inc. (TFI) will hold a special Quarterly Forum for Outsourced Manufacturing and Supply Chain event on November 2–4, 2005, in Munich, Germany. To be hosted by Avnet Electronics Marketing, the event will include a new report based on TFI's extensive European interviews and research on the EMS industry based in that region.
TFI's just-released Five Year Forecast projects total revenue in the European EMS/ODM industry to be $39,848 million by 2009, and continues strong in the communications and automotive segment. "As the EMS industry has expanded into other regions of the world, TFI has also expanded its research coverage," notes Eric Miscoll, TFI senior analyst. "Our analysts in both Europe and Asia have conducted research studies and in-depth interviews with OEMs and EMS companies in these regions. It's time for the Quarterly Forum event itself to occur in Europe to enhance the dialogue with our European members."
The Quarterly Forum's agenda includes the following TFI Reports, as well as several networking events:
*Electronic Manufacturing Outsourcing Report: Five-Year Forecast of EMS and ODM Industries by Market Sectors and Geographies;
*Original Design Manufacturers: Viable Alternative/Distinct Business Processes;
*EMS Industry in Europe: Most Notable Trends in Past Year and View to the Future;
*Why OEMs Choose Not to Outsource Electronics Manufacturing;
*Electronic Component Supply-Chain Preparedness for Substance-Restriction Requirements and Recycling.
The Quarterly Forum will also include TFI's Global Pricing Workshop, with all financial modeling converted to Euros. "The GPW methodology has proven very helpful to our North American-based members, especially for OEMs comparing total landed cost for assemblies in various regions. We look forward to offering this as our optional Quarterly Forum workshop in Munich," concludes Miscoll.
Non-member registration fee for the Global Pricing Workshop is €820.00, while the Quarterly Forum members fee is €655.00. Non-members may register for the optional Global Pricing Workshop by contacting Jennifer Read, director of client services, at jread@techforecasters.com. Members should register for both the Global Pricing Workshop and the Quarterly Forum activities on Wednesday night and Thursday through their member invitation, or contact Jennifer Read. Attendance at the Thursday Quarterly Forum Munich event for two individuals is included in the company's annual membership fee.
