Technology Forecasters Hosts Outsourcing Workshop
September 15, 2005 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
ALAMEDA, Calif. — Technology Forecasters Inc. (TFI) will host a TFI Global Pricing Workshop titled, "Mitigate the Risk of Global Manufacturing Outsourcing and Protect Your Margins," on October 5, 2005, in San Jose, Calif.
For OEMs, outsourcing often represents the largest portion of their cost of goods sold. However, many OEMs find it difficult to consistently and accurately estimate the total cost of ownership for outsourced manufacturing-related services in different regions. TFI surveyed hundreds of OEMs and contract manufacturers (CMs) to provide attendees with strategies and tactics to help increase margins and avoid unexpected costs. Led by Charles Barnhart, senior consultant for TFI, this workshop offers attendees cost models and templates to use to understand and manage costs; benchmark information to help compare labor, acquisition and mark-up costs for different regions; geographic advantages and disadvantages; pricing for engineering, manufacturing and post-production; and OEM and CM best practices.
