ANSYS, CoCreate Integrate 3-D CAD and Digital Simulation
September 13, 2005 |Estimated reading time: 1 minute
SOUTHPOINTE, Pa. — ANSYS, Inc. announces the availability of a direct connection between its ANSYS Workbench simulation environment and CoCreate's 3-D CAD software, where solid models created in CoCreate's Designer Modeling can be transferred directly to ANSYS' simulation environment. The integration also establishes an association with the 3-D CAD model so that changes made within Designer Modeling are updated within ANSYS Workbench. "With a direct integration between design and simulation, CoCreate's and ANSYS' mutual customers will see immediate results toward leaner product development," says William M. Gascoigne, CoCreate's CEO. "This connectivity between the two systems will transfer information so design and simulation run in parallel." A company's product lifecycle management (PLM) portfolio often includes applications from multiple vendors. CoCreate's newly available .NET API paved the way for extending the 3-D CAD environment of Designer Modeling to the ANSYS Workbench environment. Digital simulation software is growing as more engineers analyze products for real-world conditions while designing, which benefits companies by providing better product quality, reduced prototyping costs and faster realization of optimal designs. As a result, the ANSYS Workbench provides a powerful means with which to leverage the 3-D product development process.ANSYS will offer the integration starting with the 13.20 version of OneSpace Designer Modeling from CoCreate and ANSYS 10.0, which is available for purchase.
