Productronica '05 to Acknowledge Growing Interest for Shrinking Components
August 19, 2005 |Estimated reading time: 1 minute
CHICAGO — Productronica 2005, to be held November 15-18 in Munich, Germany, will inaugurate MicroNanoWorld, an industry platform for microtechnical production to address the central role played by nanotechnology. During the past two years, global market demand for such technology has more than doubled to $68 billion, still representing a market with further potential growth.
"In 2003, more than 5,000 trade visitors specifically came to Productronica for the micro- and nanotechnology exhibition area," says Marlies Osmers, U.S. representative for Messe München International. "This year, we will devote an entire section of the show to this growing segment. We are excited about MicroNanoWorld, and the value it provides to Productronica's exhibitors and visitors."
Together with the micro- and nanotechnology exhibition areas, MicroNanoWorld will include the "MicroSystemsTechnology" User Forum, which will host presentations and live demonstrations from industry leaders. The Forum will focus on all areas of microtechnical, component mounting, assembly and handling systems, as well as measurement and testing systems. Such technologies will include:
Mold- and die-making Microprocessing Ultra-precision production, measurement and testing Adaptation technology Nanotechnology/nanoproductionGoing forward, MicroNanoWorld will take place annually, either at Productronica or at electronica. In the Productronica year, process design, process flow and microproduction equipment will be the focus. At electronica, the segment will concentrate on microcomponents, microsensors, microactuators, microsystems and industry-specific applications.
