Indium, ACI to Present Hands-on Lead-free Seminar

UTICA, N.Y. — Indium Corporation and the American Competitiveness Institute (ACI) have joined forces to present a lead-free training program. The seminar is slated for September 13-15, 2005, at the National Center of Excellence in Electronics Manufacturing Technology in Philadelphia. The seminar will feature training facilities, hands-on lead-free production and a WEEE and RoHS regulations review. Attendees will also get assistance on selecting and evaluating lead-free materials and implementation planning.The seminar is divided into two sessions, classroom presentations and hands-on training. The classroom sessions will cover legislation, alloy selection, PCB selection of surface finishes and board materials and components. The hands-on training will include segments on hand soldering, wave soldering, reflow soldering, rework and repair, X-ray inspection and SEM metallurgy.
