Vectorless Test Tool Available
June 23, 2005 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
NORTH READING, Mass. — Teradyne Assembly Test Division's FrameScan FX advanced vectorless test tool detects open pins on components and connectors assembled onto PCBs. It uses an enhanced in-circuit capacitive coupling technique that tests for open pins by applying an AC signal to an un-powered PCB node, and measures the voltage coupled to a plate positioned in close proximity to the component or connector being tested. Hardware improvements include a low-noise op-amp that increases front-end gain of the active probe to minimize noise effects on other stages of the measurement circuit. Software features include an automatic precision mode that increases the number of measurement samples for low-measurement signals.
