Next-gen Barcode Software Intros
June 20, 2005 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
STOCKHOLM, Sweden — MYDATA automation AB released MYLabel 3.0, the latest version of its barcode and inventory management software. Designed to track individual reel, stick or trays used in SMT production lines, MYLabel stores vital production data, such as tape pitch, orientation, batch code and quantity in a central database. The information is used for quick feeder loading and full traceability. Version 3.0 features data extraction from the supplier's barcode label, as well as barcode-activated functions for enhanced ergonomics.MYLabel 3.0 is said to minimize the risk associated with manual data entry. When registering part delivers, the software can recognize the component supplier's barcode label, no matter the format and coding standard, and extract the part number, quantity and batch number. Attribute parameters, such as tape pitch and orientation then can be removed from the database, and a new entry is created. This updated version also features an alarm to alert an operator of error conditions. Based on an open-format database, the software also integrates with other factory software using ODBC/SQL.
