Libra Industries Commemorates 25 Years
June 9, 2005 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
MENTOR, Ohio — What began as a one-man company 25 years ago has grown to employ over 150 people in two Ohio-based manufacturing plants. Libra Industries started in 1980 as a distributor for industrial diamond-cutting tools. At the time, Rod Howell, president, noticed a trend toward outsourcing PCBAs from the local market. Howell concentrated on the EMS industry, becoming the first ISO-certified EMS provider in Ohio. To date, Libra Industries is a full-service contract manufacturer focused on the electronic component assembly market. Offerings include design services, prototype development, materials procurement and management and advanced assembly and testing processes for circuit board and box-build applications.
