SMT Names Group Publisher
April 5, 2005 |Estimated reading time: 1 minute
NASHUA, N.H. — SMT Magazine, along with sister publications Advanced Packaging and Connector Specifier Magazines, announce the appointment of Jay Regan to group publisher. Regan has been promoted from his role as regional sales manager on Laser Focus World and Industrial Laser Solutions Magazines, and in his new role, he is responsible for identifying new opportunities and properties to address the needs in the Advanced Packaging, Connector Specifier and SMT franchise.Regan started his career with PennWell Corp. 13 years ago in sales for Industrial Laser Solutions (then known as Industrial Laser Review). In 1993, he was promoted to regional sales manager for Solid State Technology Magazine, and in 1995, he was promoted to Solid State Technology's national sales director. He was then promoted to publisher of Cabling Installation and Maintenance Magazine in 1997, and remained in that role until October 1999. At that point, he was recruited by PennNET to be its director of business development, where he experienced the ups and downs of the dotcom roller coaster. When PennNET was closed, he returned to the publishing side as publisher of Supply Strategy Magazine, a start-up that PennWell decided to close down in November 2001 after several months of highly competitive activity in that market. After a brief hiatus, he was back as the regional sales manager on Laser Focus World and Industrial Laser Solutions.
