Multi-user Fume Extraction Systems Introduced
March 8, 2005 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
MENLO PARK, Calif. — OK International's Metcal MFX-2200 fume extraction systems are designed to support manual electronics assembly workstations for up to eight users, and can also be used to remove particulates and gases from exhaust cabinets and small benchtop wave- and reflow-soldering ovens.
For general electronics assembly applications, a combined filtration model features pre-, HEPA (99.97% efficient at 0.3 µm) and gas filters. For more specific applications, such as removing solvent vapors from bonding and underfill operations, a gas-filtration model is available, featuring a pre-filter and a 25-lb, high-capacity, activated carbon cartridge.
Features include minimal noise generation, standard castors, both analog and digital control options, and four 2.5" diameter air inlets. When fitted with 'Y' connectors, each unit can provide airflow to eight separate 2.0" diameter arms, with maximum airflow up to 75m³/h. For applications requiring greater airflow, such as large PCB assembly, the system can support four 2.5" diameter Metcal Omniflex arms. Maximum airflow is up to 140³m/h per station.
