SMD Socket Adapter for MLF ICs Available
February 11, 2005 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
EAGAN, Minn. — LS-MLF32A-01 SMD socket adapter from Ironwood Electronics allows the user to socket an MLF chip, having only the SMT pads on the target PCB without any additional space.
The companion SF-MLF32A-01 is attached directly to the target PCB using the same soldering methods as attaching an MLF (or QFN) IC. The target IC is soldered to the LS-MLF32A-01. The two parts are interconnected together with 32 gold-plated, machined pins for high reliability. Socket height, not including the IC, is 5 mm. This adapter set then allows prototyping or upgrading of MLF ICs reliably and inexpensively.
