Indium Announces Silver Quill Award Winners

CLINTON, N.Y. — Indium Corporation of America's Silver Quill Award was developed to encourage and incentivize individuals for authoring technical reports, presentations, articles and books. Eligible individuals are awarded points throughout the year based on the number and quality of their written material or presentations, and the importance of the venue (regional vs. international).
Best Author, Mike FennerFenner was chosen for this award for his ability to take complex and fragmented information and make it useful and practical for the solder user. Fenner's papers include: "Constant Solder Volumes for Consistent Assembly, A Guide to Solder Preforms," "Understanding the Impact of Lead-free on Solder Paste," "Extreme Soldering," "How to Choose and Implement a Solder Paste for Lead-free," and "A Comprehensive Strategy to Achieve Timely RoHS Compliance." Fenner lives in England, and is based at Indium's U.K. facility.
Best Paper, Tim JensenJensen's paper, entitled "Solder Paste Evaluation Techniques to Simplify the Transition to Lead-free," removes the confusion around conducting a lead-free solder paste evaluation. This timely paper will support Indium's customers in their move to lead-free. Jensen lives in Utica, N.Y., and is based at Indium's global headquarters in Clinton, N.Y.
