NEMA to Lead Trade Mission to India
January 6, 2005 |Estimated reading time: 1 minute
ROSSLYN, Va. — The National Electrical Manufacturers Association (NEMA) will conduct a business mission to India, February 9-11, 2005. With a growing economy, leadership in technology and services and investments in infrastructure, India is quickly standing out as a potential investment destination and high-growth market.
The mission will enable business executives to become familiar with the Indian electroindustry supply base and market, acquire knowledge of local business practices and create contacts with business and government officials. NEMA suggests that companies looking to establish business partnerships in India send a representative. Mission activities will include meetings with the U.S. Department of Commerce Commercial Service officials and U.S. Chambers of Commerce in New Delhi, Bangalore, and Mumbai; a meeting with the Indian Ministry of Commerce and Industry; a visit with the biannual International Engineering and Technology Fair in New Delhi; a meeting with representatives of the Confederation of Indian Industry; private matchmaking meetings and visits to manufacturing facilities in India.
Those interested in participating must register by January 10, 2005, to ensure all arrangements can be completed. Visit www.nema.org/media/pr/upload/india-commitment.pdf for a commitment form. For more information, contact Gene Eckhart at (703) 841-3204; e-mail: gen_eckhart@nema.org or Karen Miller at (703) 841-3275; e-mail: kar_miller@nema.org.
