December 30, 2004 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. — To celebrate its 20th anniversary this year, China's flagship information technology publication, China Electronic News, jointly organized an awards event to identify "The Most Influential Enterprises in China's Information Technology in 20 Years." On December 15th, 2004, Universal Instruments was named one of the top 40 businesses at a ceremony hosted by the Ministry of Information Industry - People's Republic of China.
Based on voting by the readers of China Electronic News and visitors to www.sina.com.cn, Universal Instruments was chosen for its performance in the China region over the past 20 years, coinciding with its own 85th anniversary celebrations. The judging criteria decreed that an enterprise must be top-ranking in China's information industry or in its sector; that it must be outstanding in its innovations in the areas of technology, market, administration and services; and that it must be a brand of high awareness and reputation. A panel of specialists and market experts adjudicated the voting to determine the winners.
