Image Sensor Sockets Protect in Board Assembly
December 31, 1969 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
A line of image sensor sockets designed to cut costs by protecting against damage during board assembly and processing is available from Advanced Interconnections. Standard, footprint-specific and custom configurations are available for applications such as scanners, security systems and satellite imaging.
The socket line features screw-machined terminals and multi-fingered contacts for durability in demanding applications. Standard sockets are available in FR-4 insulators in thru-hole and surface mount designs. Other options include molded or peel-a-way insulators and lead-free designs. Advanced's sockets insert after reflow to protect sensor performance, eliminate the damage caused by prolonged exposure to heat and errant solder flux on glass components during board assembly and eliminates the need for glass cleaning operations.
