Microtek Standardizes on BP Microsystems Programming Equipment
December 16, 2004 |Estimated reading time: 1 minute
Houston, Texas — BP Microsystems, announces that Microtek Inc., a programming center in Japan, has chosen its programming equipment for a new programming services facility in Isehara, Kanagawa, Japan.
Established in 1972, Microtek has focused on programming for the past 15 years. From the beginning, a strong foundation of technical expertise has propelled the company's commercial expansion. Recently, however, application specificity and further technical sophistication have become IC industry necessities. In focusing on IC, Microtek plans and designs parts that are then commissioned for manufacture in separate facilities, thereby working for its customers as a "trading company function + alpha."
With more than 130 employees, Microtek already has programmed six million devices in 2004 and anticipates 140% growth in programming services over last year. The company prefers automated programming systems because of reduced bent leads during handling and better ESD isolation. Additionally, it offers visual inspection services and component marking services. Microtek can support programming of PLDs, NOR flash memory, PROMs, OTP microcontrollers, Flash microcontrollers and NAND flash memory.
Microtek's new facility, the Atsugi Programming Center, is located in Isehara, Kanagawa, Japan, and the majority of the programming systems in the facility are from BP Microsystems.
Microtek's equipment including programmers, vision inspection machines and marking machines are automated, and are strong in programming PLDs. Anticipated programming volume for Microtek this year will exceed six million devices. The performance of BP Microsystems' programmers are a direct fit with Microtek and its goal for the future.
