U.S. Digital Purchases Siemens Siplace CF Machine
October 28, 2004 |Estimated reading time: 1 minute
Norcross, Ga.—After winning a contract for one year of free use of a Siemens Siplace placement machine, U.S. Digital Corporation, based in Washington, has purchased the equipment. This decision came as a result of the Siplace CF's performance and the entire relationship with Siemens.
The company was the winner of a Siemens promotion at last year's APEX Trade Show. The prize was a free Siplace C-Series placement machine for one year, service included. U.S. Digital Corporation chose the Siplace CF machine because of its multifunctional capabilities for both high speed and high flexibility.
U.S. Digital is a small- to mid-size designer, manufacturer and distributor of optical encoders, inclinometers, PC interfaces, digital readouts, motors and drives, and the Siplace CF fits in their production environment. As a result, they purchased the machine after the one-year contract ended. David Madore, president of U.S. Digital, says, "When I was first approached at the show to enter the contest, I was skeptical, but we have been extremely happy with the performance of the Siplace CF. The system has taken U.S. Digital to the next stage of business. Now that the year's use has ended, we have decided to purchase the machine. We feel this machine has greatly benefited our growing business and is a perfect fit to our diverse product mix."
Guenter Lauber, GM of Siemens Electronics Assembly Americas, states, "We look forward to a long and lasting relationship with U.S. Digital and hope that our equipment will help them prosper even more in the coming years. Furthermore, we are very pleased that our promotion was such a huge success. We will continue to support APEX with additional promotions in the future, and hope to see all of our customers and prospects at APEX 2005."
