Call for Papers: SMTA Medical Electronics Symposium

EDINA, Minn. — The SMTA is pleased to announce its Medical Electronics Symposium will be held April 26 through 27, 2005 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. Jeff Kennedy, Celestica, conference chairman and Dr. Ken Gilleo, ET Trends LLC and SMTA vice president for technical programs invite you to submit an abstract to participate in this dynamic program. The April symposium will focus on medical electronics, and the SMTA is soliciting papers that will provide new and timely information to attendees on the latest developments. The deadline for abstracts is December 3, 2004.
The workshop format will allow much time for interaction, questions and answers. The SMTA is considering the addition of two short courses on the afternoon before the technical conference begins.
Potential sessions will cover the following topics:
Components/Packaging and Assembly Materials Assembly Technology Challenges Manufacturing/Equipment Requirements Regulations/Barriers to Entry for Medical Assembly Assembly Failure Analysis Case Studies Sensors/MEMS/NanoTechnology Business/Regulations Process Validation RoHS for Medical Electronics Six Sigma Projects Lean Manufacturing Projects Substrate Materials for Medical Electronics Process Requirements: Qualification, Traceability Control Design Challenges: Power Management, DFX Challenges in Outsourcing Medical Assembly Environmental Constraints for Medical Products Emerging Technologies for Medical Electronics Advanced Packaging for Medical ElectronicsPlease provide a 200-300 word abstract on any of the above topics to the conference coordinator, Kristin Nafstad. Abstracts can be submitted via e-mail as a Word document attachment, to the following address: kristin@smta.org.
