IDEA Establishes Non-conforming Parts Board
September 14, 2004 |Estimated reading time: 1 minute
Princeton Junction, N.J. — As part of an ongoing effort to fight the war on non-conforming parts, which continue to plague the independent distribution channel, the Independent Distributors of Electronics Association (IDEA) has established a "Non-Conforming Parts Board" now accessible via the Internet.
The Board is designed for use exclusively by members of IDEA, a non-profit trade association representing the independent distributor market segment.
The Non-Conforming Parts Board will allow members of IDEA to keep track of and immediately notify, or alert the independent distributor community about newly identified non-conforming parts that are circulating in the marketplace. IDEA members can easily access the Non-Conforming Parts Board by visiting the IDEA Web site at www.idofea.org. The Board allows users to track items by manufacturer name, individual part numbers, production date and lot code. The database also includes the reason the product is non-conformant e.g. it fails electrically. IDEA members are encouraged to post their own listings to the site and can do so by following the instructions provided on the site.
Independent Distributors of Electronics Association (IDEA) is a non-profit trade association that represents the independent distributor market segment with a cohesive voice, raises quality through the establishment of standards and educates members and those who are willing to take the necessary steps to meet the standard.
