IMAPS Appoints O'Donaghue Executive Director

Washington, D.C. — IMAPS announces that Michael O'Donoghue has been chosen and has accepted the position of executive director, replacing Richard M. Breck as of September 1, 2004.
O'Donoghue brings more than 15 years of international business and association management experience. For the past four and a half years he has been implementing strategic alliance programs worldwide for the American Society for Quality (ASQ) based in Milwaukee, Wis.
O'Donoghue has served as associate director for the U.S. government's Peace Corps Business Development programs in the Russia Far East and in the Republic of Estonia. During his service in the former Soviet Union, he trained and directed teams of business specialist working in business development and economic transition. He served as an expert consultant for the Republic of Estonia in privatization, economic and organizational development issues involving United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the European Union. Prior to this overseas service, O'Donoghue worked as a marketing and management executive in the U.S. and Europe.
He holds a B.A. in accounting and economics and an MBA from the University of Arkansas. He is the chairman of the international section for American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and a volunteer member of several professional societies, such as PMI-Project Management Institute and ASAP-Association of Strategic Alliance Professional. O'Donoghue speaks Russian and Estonian languages and conversational German, French and Spanish.
