Cognex Announces Second Quarter Results

Natick, Mass. — Cognex Corp. announces revenue for the second quarter ended July 4, 2004, of $54.5 million, and net income of $10.9 million, or 23 cents per diluted share.
For the six months ended July 4, 2004, Cognex reported revenue of $103 million, a 48 percent increase over revenue of $70 million reported for the same six-month period a year ago. Net income for the six months ended July 4, 2004, increased 281 percent to $19 million, or 41 cents per diluted share, from $5 million, or 12 cents per diluted share, for the comparable period in 2003.
