Hanson Named to Duraswitch Board of Directors

Phoenix — Duraswitch announces that Steve Hanson, former CEO of ON Semiconductor Corp. and 28-year veteran of Motorola Inc., has been named to its Board of Directors.
Hanson was elected at a July 12 Board meeting to serve, effective July 15, as an independent director on the Duraswitch Board for an initial one-year term, and will be nominated on the 2005 ballot for a two-year term ending in 2007.
Currently, Hanson is a partner at Knowledge Capital Alliance, a consulting firm in leadership development and organizational performance, as well as partner in Southwest Value Acquisitions, a private equity firm. Hanson has more than 32 years of senior executive experience in the high technology industry, including 28 years at Motorola and more than three years as president and chief executive officer of ON Semiconductor. At ON Semiconductor he led the company through a rapid transformation from a private entity to a public company, while ON was completing a major acquisition and reinventing itself to become one of the global leaders in power management technologies.
Hanson began his career at Motorola, working his way through the organization in a number of engineering, management and leadership positions. Before leading the leveraged buyout of ON Semiconductor from Motorola, he was senior vice president and general manager for the Standard Components Group. His background includes responsibility for Motorola's Europe, Middle East and Africa operations, headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland. Hanson was selected for three consecutive years as the most globally successful Motorola Semiconductor Products general manager.
Hanson is a Caracker Lecturer at Georgia Institute of Technology and Board member of the Dean's Advisory Council, W.P. Carey School of Business at Arizona State University, as well as a member of the Dean's Advisory Council for the Ira A. Fulton School of Engineering. He was awarded the Dean's Award for Innovation in Executive Education by the W.P. Carey School of Business and is listed in Who's Who of the Electronics Industry. Hanson holds a BSEE from the College of Engineering at Arizona State University.
