Dow Corning Names Solutions Center Manager

Midland, Mich. — Dow Corning Corp. has named Thierry Materne, Ph.D., global technology and business development manager for the company's new Surface and Interface Solutions Center (SISC) in Seneffe, Belgium.
Materne will help develop innovative technologies and applications for organosilane and silicon-containing chemicals.
The Surface and Interface Solutions Center (SISC) is dedicated to designing innovative composites or molecules, processes, surface, interface and interphase technologies. It serves the global needs of customers in multiple markets, including plastics, rubber, adhesives, sealants, coatings, textiles and electronics.
Materne came to Dow Corning from the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., where he developed high added-value materials for tire and non-tire applications as manager of the Advanced Materials Department. He earned his Ph.D. in chemistry from the University of Liege (Belgium).
