Gallagher Named New President of Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas

Phoenix — Avnet Electronics Marketing, the largest operating group of Avnet Inc., announces that Phil Gallagher has been promoted to president, Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas, effective July 5, 2004, concurrent with Avnet's fiscal year 2005.
Gallagher will succeed Harley Feldberg, who was recently promoted to global president of Avnet Electronics Marketing. Gallagher currently serves as senior vice president, Global Business Development, for Avnet Electronics Marketing, where he has been responsible for the group's global supplier relationships. Additionally, he led Avnet Electronics Marketing's global account sales strategy and coverage model. He also took the lead role in developing its business migration strategy and process.
As president of Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas, Gallagher will report to Feldberg.
Since beginning his career with Avnet in Philadelphia in 1983, Gallagher has steadily risen through the ranks of sales and management. Prior to assuming his current global role, he served as president of Avnet Cilicon and Avnet RF & Microwave, both Americas-based divisions. Additional Avnet posts have included account manager, sales manager, district manager, regional manager, area director, and vice president of sales and operations for the Americas. He was also named a corporate officer of Avnet Inc. in 1997.
