April 28, 2004 |Estimated reading time: 1 minute
Montreal — Teradyne Inc. announces that Delta TechOps, a division of Delta Air Lines, has selected Teradyne's Next Generation Automated Test System (NxGen ATS) to support Delta's fleet of Boeing aircraft.
In addition, Delta TechOps will use the NxGen ATS to service and maintain the Boeing aircraft owned by their MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Overhaul) customers. Teradyne made the announcement at the Avionics Maintenance Conference April 26 through 29.
Delta TechOps is the launch customer for the NxGen ATS, which Boeing developed based on Teradyne's Spectrum 9000 Series functional test system. Boeing has licensed Teradyne to manufacture and market the NxGen ATS to commercial airlines and MROs for maintenance and repair of Boeing commercial avionics.
As part of the agreement with Delta, Teradyne will supply NxGen ATS hardware, training and support, and Boeing will deliver component maintenance manual (CMM)-sanctioned, FAA-certified test programs. Teradyne will support Delta in the integration of the NxGen ATS into its operations, leading to the retirement of the ATS-182 test system and providing Delta with an industry-leading test capability for its MRO operations.
Delta TechOps is powered by more than 10,000 maintenance professionals from around the world, who provides maintenance and engineering support services for Delta's fleet of aircraft in addition to customer aircraft, engines and components. Services range from project engineering to comprehensive turnkey agreements that provide all aircraft maintenance services.
