Janos Unveils New Vision at DSS
April 19, 2004 |Estimated reading time: 1 minute
Townshend, Vt. — Janos Technology Inc. unveiled the full scope of an enterprise-wide makeover, including its new corporate vision "The Power of Focus" at the Defense and Security Symposium (DSS) last week.
The magnitude of this makeover affects Janos at every level of its business including moving to a new high-capacity facility, adding a multitude of capital assets to increase capabilities, and bringing world-class quality systems online. On-time delivery of optical products is the dimension of business actively being worked upon at every level of the organization. At the show, Janos revealed a new trade show booth, image, slogan and Web capabilities, while providing a sneak preview into plans surrounding the future Keene, N.H. facility. The new high-tech booth spotlighted "The Power of Focus," Janos' new slogan and image. It exhibited live demonstrations and screen shots of the revamped Web site, a new Knowledge Center featuring a real time "Optical FAQ" area, and E-commerce capabilities. Design plans surrounding the new Keene facility also magnify lean manufacturing techniques, incorporate sufficient space for increased production capabilities and advanced cleanroom environments. Currently operating at 100 percent compliance, Janos also announces plans to achieve full ISO/AS certification by the second half of 2004. After spending only seven months in the certification process, as opposed to the standard one to two years, Janos has built a new quality management process that introduces Six Sigma methodologies, lean manufacturing practices and 19 new Six Sigma green belt certifications within the Janos team, including President Brett Rosner. Amidst a plethora of equipment acquisitions, Janos is expanding capabilities in coatings, diamond-turning, custom lens generating and automated polishing. A new five-axis generating machine provides the capability to efficiently generate optics of virtually any aspheric and spherical profile. Additional centering and diamond turning machines will support increased demands by boosting production capabilities. New automated polishing capabilities will allow for precise polishing of plano, spherical and aspherical surfaces. Janos Technology Inc. is a world leader in advanced infrared optic components and assemblies. For more information, visit www.janostech.com.
