Arlington, Va. — The National Association of Relay Manufacturers (NARM) announces plans for a name change and new programs that address the needs of switching device manufacturers.NARM will propose changing its name to the Relay and Switch Industry Association (RSIA) and present a new charter to its membership at the International Relay Conference (IRC) in April. As part of this move, the organization plans to implement a marketing services agreement with Cumulus Inc., a consulting company for the electronic components industry. The agreement with Cumulus would allow the organization to launch new services that will provide members with timely information on product demand, production levels and consumption for the relay and switch markets.The expanded RSIA charter is expected to enable the following new services for members:
- Timely market information reports in cooperation with Cumulus;
- New switching sessions during the IRC;
- A marketing and sales track at the IRC or a separate marketing and sales conference for the switching and relay industries;
- Worldwide forums for sharing information on new relay and switch technologies.
NARM is an affiliate member of the Electronic Components, Assemblies & Materials Association (ECA). For 56 years, it has been the trade association for the electromechanical relay and associated switch devices industry. The 52nd annual IRC event, co-sponsored by ECA, will be held April 19-21 in Oak Brook, Ill. It will be attended by relay and switching industry engineers and executives from around the world.
