Venture Outsource Group Reports 20 Percent Increase in Contract Manufacturers Enrolled in Circle of Providers Program
January 29, 2004 |Estimated reading time: 1 minute
San Jose, Calif. — Venture Outsource Group announces that the number of contract manufacturers enrolled in its Circle of Providers program increased 20 percent in 2003 over 2002.
The Circle of Providers program helps contract manufacturers expand their businesses and assists original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in their outsource decision-making when evaluating and selecting contract manufacturers. Contract manufacturers enrolling in the program have annual revenues ranging from $5 million to more than $5 billion. Participating contract manufacturers are based in countries throughout the world and provide services to the consumer electronics, avionics, medical systems, networking, storage, data communications, scientific instruments, military electronics, automotive and industrial electronics, semiconductor equipment, and optoelectronics end-markets.
Venture Outsource Group started the Circle of Providers program in 2001. More than 35 contract manufacturers currently are enrolled in the program. The program offers contract manufacturers, also known as electronics manufacturing services (EMS) providers, original design manufacturers (ODM) and collaborative design manufacturers (CDM), many advantages. For an annual fee paid by the contract manufacturer, information on participating contract manufacturers is profiled in a database and then shared, at no cost, with inquiring OEMs, who contact the firm each week seeking information on contract manufacturers and outsourcing services. Meanwhile, contract manufacturing participants can obtain guidance on what OEM companies look for when evaluating and selecting manufacturing partners.
Contract manufacturers enrolled in the Circle of Providers program also receive the latest copy of The Electronics Outsourcing Market Report, a special industry report sponsored by Venture Outsource Group and prepared by leading industry analysts. The report profiles the electronics outsourcing market in terms of suppliers (OEM, EMS, ODM and CDM), economic growth, market share, and competitive forces that impact the assembly market from a cost and value-add perspective.
Venture Outsource Group is the leading strategy firm on electronics contract manufacturing, helping OEM executives worldwide develop and execute their outsource initiatives. For more information, visit www.ventureoutsource.com.
