GSI Lumonics Receives Order from Elpida for Memory Processing Systems

Wilmington, Mass. — GSI Lumonics Inc. announces the sale of multiple WaferRepair M430 memory repair systems to Elpida Memory Inc., a leading semiconductor manufacturer in Japan. Elpida first ordered M430 systems from GSI Lumonics in April 2002. This new order is based on those systems' production success on Elpida's advanced 300mm DRAM technology. The M430 is based on patented innovations that enable manufacturers such as Elpida to design tighter fuse pitch structures, achieving higher performance on smaller die and at lower cost, which results in higher performance, higher capacity memory and related products.
