IPC Proceedings Lead Way to Lead-free

Northbrook, Ill. — IPC — Association Connecting Electronics Industries has released four proceedings on the latest developments toward lead-free implementation.
Since the European Union agreed upon the Restriction of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment, IPC has taken an active role in preparing electronics manufacturers for the European ban on lead through a series of domestic and international conferences. IPC has now collected the papers presented at four such conferences and assembled them into the following proceedings.
LDFR0403-K, IPC/JEDEC International Conference on Lead Free Electronic Components and Assemblies, includes technical papers on lead-free solder developments from IPC and JEDEC's third international lead-free conference in San Jose, Calif., in April 2003.
LDFR1003-K, IPC/JEDEC International Conference on Lead Free Electronic Components and Assemblies contains 40 presentations from the 4th co-sponsored conference in October 2003 in Frankfurt, Germany.
In June 2003, IPC and SOLDERTEC — a division of Tin Technology co-sponsored an International Conference on Lead Free Electronics in Brussels, Belgium. LDFR0603-CD, IPC/SOLDERTEC International Conference on Lead Free Electronics — Towards Implementation of the RHS Directive is an electronic collection of more than 30 printable presentations from this conference.
LDFR0803-CDM, IPC/Maxtor Conference — Making the Leap to Lead Free features presentations from IPC's August 2003 conference at Maxtor Corp. in Longmont, Colo. The CD contains printable papers on the challenges and benefits of lead-free implementation from top industry experts who have already begun to execute lead free processes.
