Fairchild Semiconductor Selects Bob Conrad for Leadership Role in Integrated Circuits Group
October 14, 2003 |Estimated reading time: 1 minute
South Portland, Maine — Fairchild Semiconductor announces that Bob Conrad has accepted the position of senior vice president and general manager of the Integrated Circuits Group (ICG).
Conrad will be focused on new product development efforts. He will share leadership responsibilities for this business group with Hubertus Engelbrechten, senior vice president and general manager of ICG, whose prime duties include setting strategic direction, marketing, and profit/loss. He will report to Hans Wildenberg, Fairchild's executive vice president and chief operating officer.
Approximately one year ago, Fairchild combined its analog & mixed signal, logic, interface and optoelectronic product lines into one unit — the Integrated Circuits Group. ICG's business is a substantial part of the total multi-market segment, representing approximately 45 percent of the company's $21 billion total available market. From 2001 to 2002, despite the industry downturn, Fairchild grew its analog revenues by more than 9 percent.
In analog ICs, Fairchild is the number three supplier in Asia and the number six supplier worldwide. Gartner lists Fairchild as the number two supplier of logic products in Asia, the fastest growing region of the world.
Conrad brings more than 20 years experience in the semiconductor industry to his new position. He has served in management roles throughout his career, most recently as president and CEO for Trebia Networks, a private, venture-backed company. He previously served as vice president and general manager for Analog Devices and spent 12 years in product development and management with Texas Instruments. He holds a B.S.E.E. from the University of Cincinnati.
Fairchild Semiconductor is a leading global supplier of high performance products for multiple end markets. For more information, visit www.fairchildsemi.com.
