Eraser Co. Works With United Space Alliance and the NASA Space Shuttle
October 8, 2003 |Estimated reading time: Less than a minute
Syracuse, N.Y. and Cape Canaveral, Fla. — Eraser Co. Inc. is designing and manufacturing custom multi-output electronic temperature controllers for United Space Alliance.
The controllers, when used with infrared heaters, will ensure proper curing of adhesives used to repair the tiles on the NASA space shuttle fleet. The controllers adjust the intensity of the infrared heaters by using a thermocouple attached to the damaged area on the ceramic tile. The Eraser Co. used its custom design and manufacturing service to specifically tailor its standard controller to the needs of United Space Alliance.
The Eraser Co. manufacturers a range of industrial products, including wire, cable and tooling cutters; wire and cable strippers; wire twisters; and wire brush reels. For more information, visit www.eraser.com.
United Space Alliance is a limited liability company owned by Boeing and Lockheed Martin, and is a space operations business offering products and services in space flight training, hardware processing, launch and return operations.
