Arlington, Va. — Kilofarad International (KFI) in affiliation with the Electronic Components, Assemblies & Materials Association (ECA) announces KFI's launch as a new trade association formed to promote and represent the global ultracapacitor industry.
The formation of KFI is said to be a critical milestone in the process of establishing ultracapacitors as mainstream energy storage systems for the transportation and power generation industries.
KFI's membership includes like-minded industry stakeholders such as Maxwell Technologies Inc., Delco Remy International Inc., the United States Advanced Battery Consortium (USABC — an umbrella organization of DaimlerChrysler, Ford, General Motors and the US Department of Energy); Delphi Corp. and AeroVironment
KFI will be present at the 13th International Seminar on Double Layer Capacitors and Similar Energy Storage Devices in Deerfield Beach, Fla., December 8 through 10, 2003, and invites attendees to visit its display and inquire how interested parties can participate.
